Application process
Applications are now closed for Hydra XV 2022
A PDF summary of the questions is provided below to help you prepare your submission.
The application must be made via the online form (not emailed) and you will be required to upload a CV and also a statement from your Supervisor/Group Leader which explains why they think you are suitable to attend this course.
Applications are assessed on the eligibility criteria and scientific merit.
It is a competitive process and a maximum of 70 places will be allocated in 2022.
If you are unsuccessful you can reapply in future years.
The closing date for applications was Friday 27th May 2022 at 10pm BST.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - For the safety of all participant at Hydra XV:
All attendees at Hydra XV are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless medically exempt and will be required to provide copies of their vaccination documentation before being accepted on the course.
All attendees at Hydra XV are required to have travel insurance in place and will be required to provide copies of their insurance certificate before being accepted on the course.
Applicants will be notified whether they have been successful and have been allocated a place by 10th June 2022.
To accept your place you will have one week to pay for your place.
All payments must be received by Friday 24th June 2022.
Any places not accepted by Friday 24th June will be released to other candidates on the waiting list.
Payments can only be made by credit/debit card through the online system.
No invoices will be raised and it is not possible to pay by cheque or bank transfer.
Cancellation is only possible by 15th July 2022. After this time no refunds will be offered.
When you confirm your place you will be asked to upload final poster details. Please ensure you have prepared this in advance. You will not be able to supply your poster details at a later date (or change them).
Hydra XV waiting list
Once the main application deadline has closed a waiting list will open. Candidates who were not successful in the original round will be placed on this waiting list as well as anyone who applies late.
Preference will be given to applicants who applied on time but were not successful in the first round.
In the event that places become available on the Hydra XV course waiting list applicants will be considered. There is no guarantee that waiting list applicants will be given a place on the course. The latest date that waiting list applicants will be notified is Thursday 30th June 2022. If you have not been successful in getting a place by this date please apply for next year's Hydra course.
In the event that a waiting list applicant is successful they will be asked to pay the registration fee and upload additional details such as poster abstracts etc. You will have one week to do so to confirm you place.
